Children Talent Contest at International Village

Rules and Regulations:

Purposes :
The purposes of the Children Talent Contest is to provide an opportunity for children to perform live on stage in front of an audience, to encourage the exhibition of special talents and to foster their confidence and self-esteem.
 
Entrance Requirements:
Contestants must be within the age group of 6 -12 on 18th February 2012 (organizers reserve rights to obtain photo identity to verify their age).  They must have the written consent of their guardians to enter and to participate in the contest by signing a registration form with declaration of their agreement to the rules at the time of registration. The performance can be on individual basis or in small group of up to 20 children at maximum.

Categories of performance:
Performance categories includes but not limited to vocal, musical instruments, theatre/drama performance, dances, magic show, martial arts demonstrations and other suitable kind of performance which displays the talent of the contestants.  The performance must be in the opinion of the organizers and the penal of judges, those that are in good taste and appropriate for performing in public by children.  The organizers reserve the right to refuse performance they consider not suitable for this event.
 
Showtime:
Each performance either by individuals or by groups will take within the
interval of 5 to 8 minutes in total.
 
Supporting instruments and tools:
Contestants are allowed to use supporting musical instruments and/or CD/DVD or other necessary tools to facilitate the performance only. The judges will decide whether the operation of those instruments by people other than the contestants is permissible.
 
Audition:
Time of Audition: 4th February 2012 (Saturday) 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
Venue:  Unit 2083-2091  International Arts Gallery,  Upper level,  International Village Mall
Registration:  no pre-registration is necessary. All registration are to be made in person, pre-registration by e-mail return will not be entertained.
Participants are to be accompanied by their guardians who will sign on the registration form to signify their consent for their children to attend the event on the date and time of audition. The trial performance will take term on a first-come-first-serve basis in accordance with the order of return of completed forms at the registration table.
Selection:  A penal of 2-3 preliminary judges will preside and choose the final contestants from the trial performance of the participants.  The judges will decide on how long the performance is to last in order to make their decision. Successful candidates chosen to enter the final contest will be notified by e-mail and/or phone within 3 working days.
Souvenirs:  Each participants enrolling in the audition will receive a souvenir sponsored by Fun4Kidz.
Decision:  The organizers reserve the absolute right to select the final contestants as well as the numbers of contestants in consultation with the penal judges.
 
Final Contest: 
Successful contestants must notify the organizer by their guardians by e-mail or written confirmation their acceptance to participate in the final contest as well as the kind of performance that they are to perform in the contest on or before 13th February 2012.
Contestants once given the confirmation will not be allowed to change the kind of performance in the contest.
The final contest shall take place at performance stage of the Atrium (Centre Court on Ground Floor) of the International Village Mall from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on 18th February 2012 (Saturday).
Contestants can pre-register for final stage rehearsal at the performance stage with the organizer.  The stage rehearsal is to be conducted between 11.00am - 1.00pm on the date of final contest.
All participating contestants must register with the organizers at the central atrium at 1.00pm on the date of final contest.
 
Judges:
There will be a penal of 5 to 7 judges to decide on the winners of the contest.  They will cast their judgment base on the ability, expertise, skills and contents of the performance, the stage performance of the contestants as well as the creativity and other relevant factors as they deem appropriate in reaching their decision. 
In addition, there shall be a special prize for the winner of “Audience Popularity Award” which is to be elected by the audience by casting of votes.
The organizers reserve their absolute right to determine the winners, the number of winners and their prizes and their decision shall be final.

Each contestants entering final round will be awarded a prize and a DVD of the final contest for memory.
 
Copy right: 
Each contestant, by signifying their agreement to participate by their guardians, shall be deemed to acknowledge the organizers’ right to use the contestants identity and/or photos, images and performance for promotion and publicity of the event and for broadcasting same at a later stage.  All copy right of the event shall absolutely be reserved to the organizers only.
 
Generality:
     Without prejudice to all and any of the above rules, it is hereby declared
that the organizers shall have the right  to alter, modify and amend or to
make new rules to supplement any of the existing the rules without prior
reference to the contestants and that the organizers’ right in this regard
shall be final and binding on the participants.
